I am looking forward to your pictures. I was in 4-H when I was nine. I took sewing, cooking childcare projects. I was in 4-H till I was 17. I got all blue ribbons except for a lavender jumper I made...it had to have one accessory...the dress already had a blouse to go with the wool jumber and a belt. I made an extra belt for the accessory...one lavander belt and one the fabric of the blouse. Well, the judges did not think the extra belt was a accessory and gave me a red ribbon. I was so mad. I took that project the next year and made a fully Lined Wool suit. It was Chocolate Brown and I made two blouses with the suit. I did get a blue ribbon that year which was my last year. I loved both of them but the lavendar jumper was my fav. I learned to sew well. In 4H I got to do lots of things I would not have got to do...see places I would not have gotten to see. Thanks for sharing with us ...brings back good memories. Do you all have 4-H camp? We did but I never got to go ...my sisters did. I was busy sewing!!! grace

Hi there! I came over here to see if you have any other projects going on!

My daughter's FCCLA group, at school, had a sewing day last Saturday at the local high school, and they pinned material together and sewed (about 26) lap blankets for the elderly at a nursing home. Then, they were going to finish them (by knotting them) during Channel One time (about 20 minutes) before school actually starts. I can't wait to see what they look like when they are all done. Have you ever made lap blankets?

I would have loved to learn to sew when I was young. I still don't know very well. It doesn't stop me from trying, though. ~ Yaya
